Port San Antonio Tour - exclusive to Aero-Engines Americas Attende
As part of Aero-Engines Americas 2017, our host sponsor Port San Antonio, will be opening the doors to their facility. The site is home to industry leading organisations and thousands of highly-skilled technicians and support personnel who provide comprehensive services to commercial and defense customers.
The tour will follow the conclusion of the conference on Friday, February 3, departing the conference venue at 2:30pm and returning from the facility at 5:30pm.
Engine Shop facilities
Delegates will have an opportunity to visit the Chromalloy and StandardAero facilities at the Port San Antonio.
Chromalloy is a leading supplier of advanced repairs, services, and MRO for gas turbines used in aviation and land-based applications. With over 4,000 people in 17 countries, Chromalloy partners with the original equipment manufacturers, commercial airlines, the military, and power companies to deliver innovative solutions that extend the life of gas turbine engines and reduce manufacturing and operating expenses.
Established in 1999, the Chromalloy San Antonio facility has over 160,000 square foot of factory and office space that serves the aerospace, military and energy segments with a broad range of services. Primary parts repaired at Chromalloy San Antonio include cases, frames, combustors, disks, shafts and supporting attachments. Special processes done at that facility includes heat treat, nondestructive testing (NDT), welding, milling, chemical clean, shot peen, and coating applications.
StandardAero is one of the world's largest independent providers of services including engine and airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul, engine component repair, engineering services, interior completions and paint applications. StandardAero serves a diverse array of customers in business and general aviation, airline, military, helicopter, components, energy and VIP completions markets.
Since 1999, StandardAero San Antonio, Inc has operated at Port San Antonio as the sole USAF depot for T56 engines, which power the C-130H aircraft. Since 2003, StandardAero has also operated as the Navy depot for T56 engines. Operating in over 250,000 ft², our facility includes all component repairs, all accessory repairs, and specialized processes such as chemical Plating, accessory testing, and engine test. The StandardAero facility is designed with a high degree of environmental controls, and is classified as a ‘0 discharge’ facility
